Add/Replace Background in PDF Portfolio does not work

Hi everyone, I've created a new PDF Portfolio containing several pdfs. Each of these pdfs is approx. 20 pages long. I want the first 10 pages to have a blue background and the last 10 to have a pink background (because the first 10 relate to one subject matter and the last 10 to a different subject matter).

So, I follow the instructions as required, e.g. I select the pdf, then choose Document -> Background -> Add/Replace. I pick the blue color I want under "Source", "From Color". I select "Page Range Options..." and choose pages 1 to 10. The "Preview" pane shows the blue color that should be applied to my page range. I press OK and a progress bar appears, making it seem as though this setting is being implemented. Except that the color doesn't actually change at all.

I try the same procedure with my last 10 pages (i.e. picking pink instead of blue and page range 11 to 20). Again, it seems as though the setting is being made, but I end up with no new background colors. Ironically, this actually does work on my colleague's computer, so I wonder if anyone can please indicate what may be the cause of the problem on my computer. My colleague and I have the same settings. Thank you in advance. Macrettoc

Hi everyone again, I've managed to solve the problem by going into Edit -> Preferences -> Accessibility and unticking "Replace Document Colors" under "Document Colors Options". I can now apply different colors to my pdfs within different page ranges. Problem solved, phew!
