common variables across all forms in a portfolio

Hi,
I have employees filling out an employee record. I use the same variable field names for last name, first name, social security, birthdate, etc. across all PDF forms in the portfolio.

How can I get it so that when they fill out the first form, the other forms with the same field names are automatically updated. I dont want them retyping in information that they already put in the first form.
THANKS!
Mark

It appears to be possible, but all users will need version 9 or better. See Shared Data in Packages Part 1 and Shared Data in Packages Part 2 by John Brinkman for more information and an example file.

Once the package is setup, it appears you have to use the forms in the package.

THx for the info. For someone new at this, it seems a little complicated. Isnt there any global variables or something? I am just looking for a more simple straightforward way to share the common variables...maybe Adobe cant do this. Thx,mark
