Cover Sheet

I just purchased Acrobat 9 Standard. When someone opens the Portfolio I would like it to show the cover sheet rather than the home page. I have not found where to make that happen. Is there something I am missing?

My Product Information:
Acrobat Standard 9.0, Windows

I hope I'm wrong about this....but the V.9 version of Acrobat seems to have completely eliminated the ability to use one of your own PDF files as a cover sheet.

The "welcome page" feature of V.9 is kind of a joke. I mean really, Acrobat --- we designers are perfectly capable of creating our OWN welcome pages - using our OWN design tools.

What's more - it appears that individual PDFs within the portfolio CAN NOT be saved as individual files? Someone please tell me I'm wrong about this too.

keyon - yes, you can add a cover sheet to a Portfolio (it will be the page shown in thumbnails and if the PDF is opened in a pre-9 application) - in fact there's already one present by default. However it won't show as the opening document in v9, as the Flash navigator replaces that functionality.

In the Portfolio choose menu - view - Portfolio - cover sheet.
This will open the default 1-page document, open the pages sidebar, right-click the page and choose to replace it.

You can save out files from a Portfolio using the toolbar, if it's not secured - highlight a file, press the disc icon and choose "Save file from Portfolio".

Thanks, UVSAR
I'll check out the cover sheet options.

In regard to printing individual PDF files within the portfolio - I normally like to place a PRINT button on theindividual PDF itself (this makes it easy for users to find). This automatically launches the print dialogue box.

This worked nicely in Acrobat 8 packages - users could launch the print dialogue box for that particular document - and simply print that document alone ( not the entire package).

In Acrobat 9 PortFolio - using these types of print buttons seem to force users to print the entire portfolio.

Do you know of any workarounds for this?

Thanks
