Directing to a another page in the PDF

I have merged many pdfs into a single PDF document, with the first page being an outline.

Is it possible to make the outline "interactive" [not sure if that is the correct terminology], so that the outline item I "click" on in the pdf, will take me directly to the page it is referencing?

I believe it would be the equivalent of bookmarking, but in the actual text of the document.

Thank you!

You have a single PDF created by combining many into one.
So, not a "Portfolio" (the topic of this forum).
With that said, use Acrobat Pro's Link tool to establish the desired links.

You can create a book mark (<Ctrl>+B) and then use the 'Set Destination' property of the bookmark to set the destination. Navigate to the page you want the bookmark to goto, set the zoom factor you want for that bookmark, right mouse click the bookmark, select "Set Destination", confirm action.
