How do I merge several portfolios created from MS Outlook ?

Hi everyone (I'm new in this forum),

At work I am using Acrobat X Standard, and have found the Portfolio feature to be very interesting to manage by MS Outlook "archives".

When starting to use it, I built several portfolio's (by topic), and started appending e-mails to them. I now find that having all e-mails in one single portfolio has more advantages in terms of searching for specific documents.

I have not found a way to merge my existing portfolio's. Is this possible at all ? If not, what would be a good way to make sure I can search my Portfolio's all at once ?

Thanks

Philip

I, too, want to merge two PDF portfolio files, each with a collection of emails, some emails containing attachments. The two portfolios sit on the same drive and same file folder.

If I could extract en masse all the file from the smaller of the two portfolios, and then import or add the to the larger portfolio, again en masse, that might work, but not efficiently.

It's not possible in Acrobat - there is no user interface or scripting method to merge the files within two PDF Portfolios. It would be possible, in theory, via a custom plugin or external software app, but I don't know of any on the market which have that ability as standard.

I think that this is an example of an unacceptable piece of programming.

Portfolio is totally overrated and in many instances useless!

Until 'Portfolio Merge' and 'Extract to Portfolio' functions are coded it is a write off. The amount of wasted time and energy extracting files (and often re-naming, due duplicate names) is ridiculous.

Come on WAKE UP Adobe - we pay a LOT for your software!

Thanks, everyone responding. Adobe will offer the function, undoubtedly, as it has utility.
