Moving Among Documents In Acrobat X PDF Portfolios

I have a document that was created in Acrobat 9 Pro. I loaded it onto a computer that uses Acrobat X Standard. I was able to open the file, but I could not navigate among the portfolio files without going back to the layout view. In 9 once I opened a portfolio file I had arrows at the top that allowed me to move to the next document. Has this feature been eliminated from X Standard? Thanks!

Correct - the black Portfolio toolbar you saw in version 9 has been removed.

Although the Acrobat X Family can open PDF Portfolios created in version 9, their layouts were not designed with the new user interface in mind. A layout created in X doesn't need the toolbar as the card-based navigation system is built into the layout itself.

I guess that it was too hard for engineers to detect the Portfolio creator and then display the interface as expected…

If I create the portfolio in Adobe X Standard, will the people viewing it be able to add notes to the pages to save for later reference?
