Hi,

Sorry, I don't have an answer. I was also following the tutorial and failed to get the custom navigation into Acrobat.

The step that caused me problems was WinZip. The .nav file did not open in the view shown in the video and while I could get to that view (via the edit menu), I am not sure if that process caused WinZip to compress the mimetype file.

The tutorial is excellent, it is just trying to crack it to get it to work here. I was able to copy the AUC .nav file in to the correct Resources folder and that worked.

Any ideas? Anyone get it to work?

Thanks,

Niall

Hope this helps,

Niall

i finally did... i used type the following under 'run' on the start menu (windows):

%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Adobe\Acrobat\9.0\

over there, there is the navigators file folder... open that up and insert your .nav file.

now, for the winzip... just double click on the nav file and winzip should be able to open it... dont extract the files... just replace each file its there and close it out.

good luck.

Hi Roberta,

Thanks very much. I had made a mess downloading and renaming the original .nav file from the tutorial. Once I followed your steps and downloaded the files from scratch, I was sorted. Got it working.

Thanks again,

Niall

Hi,

I'm also getting hung up on the same step in the tutorial, when I try to open the nav file in WinZip the screen looks different. Initially I downloaded the AUC_Navigator_01.zip and changed the file extension from .zip to .nav were you able to download the .nav directly or did you also change the file extension?

I was able to open the AdobeRevolve.nav that come with acrobat in WinZip correctly, so I'm thinking there must be something I'm not doing correctly with the AUC_Navigator_01.zip file.

Thanks

Hi,

If you just click the download link for the .nav assets (don't right click to download or any other alternative method). This will download it with the .nav extension, so that you don't have to change it.

Then double click the .nav and it will open in WinZip automatically and in the right view.

Following these steps works for us - I had been right clicking the link to download the assets.

Good luck,

Niall
