I use a Macbook Pro. When I want to convert an MSWord file (Mac version 12.2.0) with some graphics or photos to a PDF, the document file size basically quadruples and often makes the file too large to email. What am I doing wrong? Is there anything I can do to keep this from happening? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Are you creating the PDF with the Adobe PDF 9 Print Driver or the Mac save as PDF method. Be sure to use the Adobe PDF 9 driver in the printer selection window. Also specify the proper distiller setting (such as standard or smallest file size). It may be set to something like press quality - you can change it in the print dialog under PDF options.
