I created a set of ebooks where the chapters are set up as individual PDFs in a Package done in Acrobat Pro 8.1.7 (Mac)
My client informs me that some customers are not seeing the thumbnails in Reader, and only see the first PDF, which is a single page cover sheet. This makes the book unreadable for them. Customers are advised to make sure their Reader is the most current, yet I'm told this is not solving the issue.
I discover tonight that Acrobat Pro 9 now calls these "Portfolios". I haven't upgraded to 9 yet, but I'm using 9.3 for the Reader. I see the thumbnails on the left of the Reader window in all three ebooks.
Is there a quirk where Reader 9 doesn't show the thumbnails for a Package created in Acrobat Pro 8? Or is there a setting where customers might have the left sidebar turned off? I see in Reader's View Menu there's a Portfolio with a submenu.
Any thoughts from others? I appreciate any ideas from you.
