Portfolios of portfolios

(new user) - acrobat 9 pro - constructing portfolio of all pdf files - revolving layout

I've discovered that one can (partially) include a portfolio as a 'file' within a portfolio. The problem is that you can't, as far as I can tell, navigate back to the first level portfolio. In addition, once having entered a 'sub-portfolio', subsequent entry to any level will display a "portfolio empty" message. Ok, so much for that (unless I'm wrong - then please do tell me how its done).

If 'portfolios of portfolios' cannot be done, can the effect be emulated (using combined files, folders of files or some other method?)

Here is the effect I want:

1) I wish to group a number of sub-sections of my presentation such that, when the user clicks on the main presentation (welcome page not needed) they will see a revolving display of the 'second level' files/folders (pdf), each of which contains a another set of (3rd level) individual folders - the ultimate targets.

2) when one of the 1st level files is clicked on, I would like to present another revolving display of the 2nd level files and, from there a revolving display of the target (3rd level) individual files. In essence, something that emulates folios within folios, and permits linking and navigation between all files and folio levels (or emulates the effect). ideas? - thanx, red

That's it. (and yes, I have recommended to Adobe a folio-within-folio (folio-trees) capability as a feature. I think it would greatly enhance the value of portfolios). -

You can create folders inside a Portfolio and add files (or more folders) into them - the navigator browses in and out of the levels as normal, so there's no reason I can see for wanting to embed one navigator inside another one.
