Redacted text still shows up in portfolio search

I have created a portfolio pdf from emails in lotus notes using the notes pdfmaker plugin. I've gone through the individual pdfs and redacted text in those pdfs. When I search those individual pdfs, the redacted text does not show up. However, when I search the entire portfolio, the redacted text still shows up. I figured it might be an indexing issue, but my document says it does not have an embedded index. I've also disabled the indexing in pdfmaker. Any ideas of what's going on and how to fix this?

use (experiment with) the PDF Optimizer tool. start by clearing all checks. place checks only for 'Discard Objects' > 'Discard embedded search index'. (always make a copy of the file before optimizing it)

I tried your suggestion, but it didn't work. the redacted text still shows up when I search the portfolio. I created a portfolio manually using just 2 pdf files, redacted the text and the redacted text does not show up in the portfolio search. So it has to do with either the pdfmaker plugin for lotus notes or email portfolios in general. If anyone has made an email portfolio, can you try redacting some text and see if it still shows up in your portfolio search?
