Renaming document images using Adobe Reader 7

Reader fully describes your product, it just reads a PDF. If you want to manipulate a PDF contents you need to purchase a more robust product.

With Acrobat Standard or Nitro PDF, you can rename the bookmarks, add some touch up minimal text, and add comments.

thanks for the quick reply. I am confused by all the acrobat versions out there 7,8,9 standard. If all I need is minimal text and renaming bookmarks, which is the best buy for my needs? Is Nitro 9 Pdf a quality product that will work as well as Adobe Acrobat? Appreciate feed back from experienced users.

There are version numbers that indicate the version of the product and which PDF file standard they are designed to create. Each new version adds some new features that the PDF format will support.

Then within a version there is

Reader - a free program to read PDF files.
Standard - program to perform some basic editing functions and create PDFs from compatible versions of Microsoft Office.
Professional - program to perform the same functions as Standard and then create interactive forms.
Extended - all the functions of Professional and create PDF's from some CAD programs and create 3D PDFs.

Nitro PDF is a competitive product to Acrobat but probably not as robust but is very price competitive.

Adobe is only selling version 9, although you might find some retail stores selling older versions from unsold inventory.
