So links don't work in Portfolios?

So I have a PDF that has links to other PDFs. I created a PDF Portfolio of all of the documents and now the links don't work. Is this correct or am I doing something wrong? I right click then open the file from the portfolio but the links still don't work.

The PDF Portfolio would be great for a product I am thinking of creating but if the links aren't functional then it is pointless.

Thanks in advance.

Intra document links don't work when you combine the PDF documents into a Portfolio. I haven't found a good work around for this but I did write an article on the topic back when I was with Adobe. Take a look at the link below.

Thanks Joel - I tried it, but returning to original document is kind of cumbersome. Hopefully this can be fixed in the next version.

Unfortunately it's the nature of the PDF Portfolio architecture - member files don't see each other as if they were in a folder structure, even though the layout makes it look like they're arranged that way. In reality they're all attachments to the top-level document (a one-page PDF file known as the Cover Sheet), so the "open a file called XXX.pdf" links which worked on disc can't survive the process of being Portfolio-ed.

In an ideal world you could trawl the links in every member document and update them to "open attachment" versions using JavaScript, but right now the functions needed don't exist in the API. A plugin could do it, but you'd have to write your own.
