Troubles with merging documents into a single .pdf

Hi!
I experience some troubles using Acrobato 9 PRO (9.3.2) while trying to merge some files (.doc) into a single .pdf file.
The document I want to create is made of about 20 pages (single .doc files), each containing some text boxes and images (of tables coming from .xls).
If I create a single .pdf using 5-7 .doc files, there is no problem, but if I try to create a whole .pdf (using the same settings as before), almost all of the text boxes and images (as described above) miss several characters.
I need some suggestions to find a solution. Thanx!
Max

Do they work OK if you first convert each .DOC into a 1-page PDF, then assemble those into the final document?

You can batch process the conversion by creating a new batch sequence (advanced..document processing..batch processing) without any steps in it. Batch sequences will read any files you send them and by default saves everything as PDF, so an empty sequence will act just as a batch converter.

Hi UVSAR, thanx for your answer.
If I do what you told me, if I have 10 native files, I will obtain 10 .pdf files, but I want one single file containing the 10 "pages".

I'll try to be clearer:
I have several .doc and .dwg files (let's say 20):
If i pick 5-7 of them each time and I create a single .pdf with each group, everything is ok, but if I use all the 20 files the generated .pdf misses several words and symbols.
The same if, once I created the 3 sub-catalogues, I merge these 3 .pdf files (each made of 5-7 pages) into a single .pdf.

Thank you in advance!

I know I said to first make a series of 1-page PDFs, but then to combine those into a single PDF using Acrobat (via the menu or via the context-click in Windows Explorer).

What we're trying to establish is at what point the error is being introduced; i.e. are the characters really there and simply missing a font glyph, or are those items not being added to the content in the first place. When you're doing a combine of files that in turn reference other files, there's a whole heap of headless processes talking to each other (Acrobat, PDFMaker, Word and Excel), so tracking down errors is a nightmare.

Don't suppose you can share some of the files with us?

Hi!
I also tried to create 1-page pdfs from each file and started from these.
But, once more, combining them in 5-7 pages gives me a sub-catalogue ok, while the other combinations (as described in previous post) lead to the same error.
I hope it is clearer now.
Thank You!
