Acrobat 8 does not collate pdf when printed

I have a Mac running OSX and acrobat 8. When trying to print a 2-page pdf to a X4400 with collation, I get 2 page 1's and then 2 page 2's. It looks like I need to force host collation on the mac. How do I do that?

There's no option for forcing host collating in Acrobat 8.

Does the printer have it's own collate feature? open the 'Copies and Pages' drop down menu and select printer features. Check if there's a collate option and that it has been enabled.

If it's enabled and it's still not working, check for a more recent diver for the printer.
