I just installed Acrobat Professional 8.0 (over 7.0 -- it asked if I wanted to uninstall, and I said yes). My machine has Windows XP, SP2, all latest patches.
Now for the problem: I have a network printer (HP LaserJet 2420PS) that causes Acrobat to crash if I select it! (The standard print options box doesn't pop up, rather the whole program just crashes). Has there been any report of this type of thing -- it is kinda a show stopper for me.
Is your network printer running on a different OS than your machine? The print server may not be set up to run alternate drivers for different operating systems on client computers. You may be using a printer driver that's compatible with the print server's operating system but not with your computer's operating system.
I would recommend that you install a printer driver that's compatible with your operating system and reconfigure the network printer using the Add Printer Wizard. For further details please see the following technical note:
