Acrobat Reader page size problem when printing

Using Adobe Reader 9 on Windows XP 64-bit

When i try to print a pdf, the page size is not recognised so the printer always makes me manually select the A4 print tray.

I think it is because the software thinks it is printing on US "letter" size in stead of UK "A4" size.

anyway I can set the default to A4?

Check, what dimension your PDF has. Open the pdf and press ctrl+d to open the properties dialog.
On the bottom of the dialog you can see the height and length.

Then look if the option "select paper source from PDF pagesize" is checked in the print dialog.
If so, uncheck the checkbox, so the document is printed on the standard paper tray of your printer driver.

problem is, it happens for all pdf's, and when i use a differnet pc, i can print fine. so i think it's definitely a software problem rather than the pdf.
