operating acrobat X Pro. For unknown reasons, when ever I go to print, after print box appears and click to print, another box pops up asking to save in pdf. When clicked yes, box disappears and so does printing. Want to turn off auto pdf save function, think same blocking printing. Help!

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 10.1, Windows

Whattodo,

What printer do you have selected? If you have the Adobe PDF Printer as your default, the Print dialog is looping back to create another PDF.

I have Kodak printer & have the same problem. How do I set it again ? I do not see Adobe on the list of printer to be check as default. If I print other thing is that mean I will change back between Kodak print & Adobe then ?
I can print at the library for now, is this how it is going to be or they are having update coming out soon?
AS of today, I found no new update so I guess I have the latest version that having the printing bug.

imjustagirl,

I'm sorry, I'm having trouble reading your problem description. You've said that you have a Kodak printer and when you choose File > Print in Acrobat, it goes back to the Save Dialog? Are you running the Free Adobe Reader or Acrobat Standard (or Pro) also, what version are you running? Are you having this issue on EVERY printer you try to send to, or only the Kodak?
This may help:
1. In Windows, go to Start > Devices & Printers or Start > Control Panel > Printers & Faxes
2. If you have the full version of Acrobat, you will have a PDF Printer installed.
3. Out of the printers in the list, you can right-click on any one and choose Set as Default Printer

I am having same problem as the first post:

operating acrobat FREE most up to date version ( not sure what's it called) with window XP. For unknown reasons, when ever I go to print, after print box appears and click to print, another box pops up asking to save in pdf. When clicked yes, box disappears and so does printing.

I just want to be able to print normally as before I updated to the latest version of Adobe.

My default printer is set to Kodak, Do I need to install PDF. printer & choose PDF. printer to print PDF. files?
Why such big trouble, just to print a PDF?

How / where do I install PDF. printer? I have been going Library just to print the PDF. files.

The PDF Printer only comes with the FULL version of Acrobat, not the Free Adobe Reader. So that isn't the issue. Can you check your Kodak printer to see if print to File is turned on?

I have same problem. I cant quite see solution in above posts.

I have acrobat x pro. Installed about month ago. Win 7. Was working fine.

Now when I try and print it insists on saving file, and then wont print even after save.

Printer is EPSON TX610FW Series and it can print other files eg. doc not problem. I tried to print by opening pdf from inside adobe acrobat pro but same problem.

Whether Adobe acrobat set as default or my Epsom printer as default makes no difference.

Any solution?

In the print dialog, do you have Print to File checked at the bottom left?
