Add Binding Margins for two sided printing.

I scan a letter size document with text to edges. Then I print the pages. I want to add binding margins before I print so that there is approx 3/4 inch (19 mm) on the left edge of the first page and the same on the right hand side of the second page or the back side of the first page. The idea is to allow a friction binding, the type you slide the set of pages into without the binding covering the text. I can do the crop but it cuts off the text outside the crop line. Any suggestions?
