In adobe 8.1 I can no longer select in windows explorer many documents at once and then right click to print. I always get unexpected error from windows. This did not happen in Adobe 7.0

Check your system's print settings. There's no logical reason why you can't print as you describe. There's no difference in that feature between versions 8 and 7.
You might want to do a program repair to see if that helps. Open Acrobat, and choose Help > Repair Acrobat Installation.donna.
