Can high resolution pdfs be identified?

I have some pdfs that I would like to find out if they were made in high resolution. I don't see an option under Properties and I don't have access to the person who made them or another file to compare file size. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. (I am using Acrobat 8 Professional.)

Thanks

Use the preflight tool to identify images in the PDF which are above/below any ppi range you tell it to look for. You can also create a fix-up to downsample images in the PDF if you desire.

edit: additional info
You could use the PDF Optimizer (Advanced menu) to downsample as well, but it's a manual process where the preflight tool can be used to create preflight droplets to automate via drag and drop. Oh, the PDF Optimizer has a handy button in the upper right which will Audit space usage and give you the byte and % feedback on the components (like: images, fonts,etc...) of the PDF. It doesn't give info on individual images though.
