Cannot print pdf in double sides

Recently I bought an international standard in printable PDF format from internet.
I want to print it in double sides but the final print-out is in single side only.
I checked my print setting, double sides is selected.
What is the problem? Can anyone help to solve it.

What type of printer are you printing to? What OS are you using?

Thanks for your reply.
I am using Fuji Xerox DocuPrint 360 printer and OS is Windows XP Professional.

Some more background information, when we buy the printable pdf version from internet.
When we download it, the website requests us to install a plug-in for Adobe as that pdf is password protected. Is that the reason why we cannot print it in double-sides properly?
