Can't Print PDF File

I tried printing several pdf files today and I get the following errors.

The document could not be printed

There were no pages selected to print.

Then a security warning:

C:ProgramFiles (x86)CommonFiles\Adobe\ARM/1.0\AdobeARM.exe

I tried the troubleshooting. Have the correct driver. Can't print as an image. Can print from other programs. Running Windows 7.

Adobe has been acting screwy for a few weeks. I can't uninstall it, because I can't reinstall it - tried and had to revert to an earlier version of my operating system to get it back.

Thanks for any help = this is frustrating. Maybe a virus? I've run all the virus, spybot, malware, stinger, etc. Also & nothing.

AdobeARM is the update manager, which is trying to connect and download the latest patches. It's safe to allow, but if you're having problems uninstalling then it sounds like your current install is damaged. Given you're on Windows 7 you should uninstall Reader 9 completely, and install Adobe Reader X instead (which is Win7 compatible).

Thanks for your quick reply. OK I did it, and now I have another problem. Probably not what you expected. When I try to open Reader X, I get an Internet Security message that says my settings prevented the file from opening: C:\Program Files (X86)\Adobe\Reader|Eula.exe. And the window closes. Can't open a file or the application at all.

Any ideas about this?

Until about 3 weeks ago I had no problems with Acrobat at all - I didn't change anything - one night I tried to open a document and it wouldn't work and since then I've had problems.

Thanks!
