Can't print PDFs with HP Laserjet

I just picked up an HP laserjet p1005. I have a macbook pro.

Problem:

When I go to print PDFs it simply will not print, there is no error message. I found that I can copy and paste the PDF into word and print, but I don't want to do that b/c I lose the original format and page numbers which I require for school. I also have a Vivera HP inks printer and it can print the PDFs no problem - I don't want to use it b/c it is ink and I go through a lot of pages, that's why I got the laserjet.

My Product Information:
Reader 8.1.1, Macintosh

Have you tried clicking "Print as Image" under the "Advanced Print Setup" window? That worked for me when I had a similar problem. (albeit with older technology)

Thanks so much guys !, both for the question and answer, because I had exactly the problem, and the solution worked. So simple in the end, and I am very grateful.
