In advance forgive me for posting something that already has been posted, but there is a Dutch saying that says that you cannot see the forrest anymore because there are trees in the way...
I have two identical Imacs with the same software versions on them and I run into the following problem. When I export an Indesign file to a PDF one one machine, black is just a 100% black and when I export the same file on the other machine the output for black is in four colours. I haven been looking for differences in the setting, but I just cannot solve the problem. I there anyone out there who can help me with this?

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 9.3.1, Macintosh

In InDesign, go to Edit - Preferences - Appearance of Black, and change the option for print/export.

Thanks. Is this in CS4? I see no preferences under edit in CS4 where I can change the print/export options.

If you're on Mac the preferences menu is on the main InDesign tree:

:( There is no print/export options under preferences (OSX-CS4). Not that I can find it anyway.

Could be a couple of different reasons:

If you are using a different file one could actually be RGB but Acrobat is automatically converting to CMYK in the seperations preview

If you are using Illustrator / InDesign you have the settings set to "Use Rich Black" which makes all black text 4 colour so that when it goes to press it doesn't drop out in thin areas

If it is the second problem, inside Indesign (with no documents open) go to Edit>Preferences>Appearance Of Black and in the Printing/Exporting drop down change it to "Output all blacks accurately"
