Hello,

The problem: I have two PDFs of the same book, the first PDF has all the images, the second PDF has all the text. Is there a way to merge the two PDFs so the images and text appear on the same page?

I would like to be able to achieve this in Acrobat Pro 8, I'm also trying to use PitStop Pro.

Many thanks
ant.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 8.1.7, Macintosh

Hi rbogie,

thanks for your response, I had looked into applying it as a watermark, but this is a 200 page book, so would be very time consuming, and was hoping for a much more automated process, or something that doesn't require so many clicks.

experiment with the watermark tool; you can apply the watermark to all the pages of your document

Hmm... I know that you can apply the watermark to any number of pages, but I need to apply the correct text pdf page to the corresponding image pdf page.

The watermark tool only seems to allow you to apply the same watermark across every page, rather than selecting the pdf you want to use for the watermark and being able to apply each individual page with the page from the pdf you want.

The only way seems to be to go in and out of the watermark tool for each individual page, if you need to apply a different watermark to each page, which I do.

If I'm missing something please let me know, thank you.

If one has both pages in one PDF, one can make one of the pages into a 'Template', and then use Acrobat JavaScript to 'overlay' the template onto the other page.

Using callas pdfToolbox you can open up both PDF's. Open up pdfToolbox's switch board, go to "layers', choose "import as layer". Select the appropriate PDF from the drop down list. Apply/execute. Then go back into layers and "flatten layers".

you are correct. i can automate the process and can do it efficiently, but i do not sell (or support) plug-ins. if you want me to do it, send an email via the forum.
