Document-embedded print settings

Hello all and one,

My company uses Acrobat Standard 7.0.9 and 8.1.1 for document management, creating editable PDF forms from MS Word and MS Excel documents as well as scanning printed documents to PDF for archiving and other uses. Due to the variety of uses, we are having to manually check (or uncheck) the "Choose Paper Source by PDF page size" setting depending on whether a document is truly legal-sized, a scanned A4 page, an odd-sized fax, etc., etc..

Is there any way to embed whether the "Choose Paper Source by PDF page size" option is set within the document so that it does not have to be verified each time? If so, this would alleviate lots of lost time and resources due to printers waiting for A4 to be loaded (which we do not stock or use), skewed letter-sized scans being printed on legal or folio paper, and a myriad of other issues.

Thanks in advance,
Scott

1) A good idea
2) Not supported at this time.

There used to be (pre A8) a JavaScript method that would like you override the onPrint event and make some setting changes such as this. Hoever I have not seen the onPrint event listed in the more recient JavaScript SDKs.

An older SDK (A6 and older) may still have the documentation and the code may or may not work.
