Embed screen frequency in PDF

I don't know if this is possible or not. I have a non-postscript printer (HP LaserJet P1505). I want to create a PDF with custom Screen Frequency and print out so a job printer can make a plate and hold the screen.
Is this possible? or does the printer have to be a postscript printer?
I am actually using Acrobat Pro 9.4.0 but below it did not give me that option.

If you create your PDF to PDF/X-1a then it does not include a screen frequency. This is what you want since your printer will determine THEIR screen frequency upon output. Way back when people used separations - you used to stipulate.

You don't need to.

Cheers,

I've been using Acrobat since v1.0 and still get amazed by its power. An Acrobat ACE since 1999

If you are giving the file to the person making the plate as a printout, I think you will probably find that depending on how they are making the plate, the screen may actually not show up. Depends on whether they are using a scanner or a camera.

-anyway-

What you can do, is use Adobe PDf printer (setting the screening options) and that gives you control over the postscript options, then simply print on your printer directly from the PDF file.
