When exporting a file to Acrobat Distiller, the spot color gradient shade gets changed to CMYK. How can I change the settings to accept the spot color?

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 6.0.5, Macintosh

Since you didn't mention what program(s) you are exporting from, why you are using Distiller instead of direct to PDF, what version of Distiller, etc. I can't really help :(.
