I have using Creative Suite 2 with my Intel mac. I have create PDF file by illustrator to produce catalog etc.
The problem is I have a PSD transparence pic inside a PDF file, I just cannot print it right with my HP color laser printer (some path are covered or cannot be shown under the transparence area). But If I turn on the Simulate Overprinting in Arcobat 7 pro, it is no problem. So does it mean it is no problem for publishing output with this PDF file with PSD inside ??

Thanks and regards

There might be a problem between the postscript 3 transparency and the postscript of your printer. I sometimes get around this trouble simply by saving to an older version of Acrobat (v1.3 or so) which forces Acrobat to flatten the transparent object. When it does so it uses the same postscript used to display on the screen and you generally get the new file to look like the old one (though bigger in size).
Then when you print the postscript doesn't have to "translate" the transparency and tends to print OK. Only a problem if you need some other PSv3 features, but proofing to the laser is probably OK.
Good luck
