PDF editing struggles

I am editing a two page pdf document. Page one contains both image and text. Page two is only text.

When I edit the text on page one the file size spikes from approximately 300k up to 5mgs! I am certain it is the image that is problem, but I am unable to remove it as it is essential to the concept.

If I only edit page two the file size doesn't change much.

Does anyone have any ideas to help me circumvent the huge size change? This is happening on multiple documents. Thanks!

You may be changing the image compression or embedding text. You can use the "Reduce file size" feature and set your reduction parameters.
