I currently use Powerpoint to create posters for my company. I then need to convert that Powerpoint to a PDF file using Adobe in order for the file to be printed on our machines. The problem I am having is that during the conversion we are losing resolution on the file (mostly with picture resolution) and the poster comes out pixelated. Is there a step I am missing when using Distiller that would help this issue? Thanks in advance.
The problem is not in the conversion—it's PowerPoint. PowerPoint is designed to be an on-screen presentation application, not a print-design tool. You would get the same result if you were to print from the PowerPoint file directly.
If you create files for print you need to use a page-layout application such as Adobe InDesign.
