Press quality vs pdx/1a

Which setting would be best to export to or an advertisement to be printed in magazine (exported from Indesign). I'm not sure what difference in quality is between the two.

/X-1a is the best choice as it guarantees everything is embedded (fonts, etc.), that all colors are converted to CMYK, and that there's no transparency or layering which the printer would mis-interpret. otherwise the visual appearance, resolution and image compression is the same as "press quality".
