There are many pdf files which look fine on the monitor screen but when printed its just too small to read. Is there any way to print it in a larger font ?

Acrobat Pro 9.1.1, Windows

Unfortunately this is not possible because it would require re-pagination/formatting of a PDF file. One thing you can do is zoom to a particular magnification and then select "Current view" in the Print Range are of the Print dialog.

I've created a Word document, saved it as a PDF (Acrobat 8) and printed it. It looks fine on screen as the PDF, but when printed, two or three words only appear in a different font. I've used the same font for the entire document and most of it prints correctly. I've tried to re-type the affected words, but still happening. Very annoying. Isn't this the point of PDF - to make sure all fonts, layout, etc. stay correct when you email it to someone else??!
Hang on ... I may have just worked it out. I'd been saving the Word doc in Word 97 then saving as PDF. When I (just then) saved the doc as Word 2007, then saved as PDF ... problem solved! Don't know why but happy it's fixed (fingers crossed).

Many thanks, Lori for that info. It worked for me, and I learned something!!

Pretty good when you're almost 70!!
