Print PDF's darker

We get a lot of our customers product drawings in pdf format. When these drawings are printed for document control, the print is very faint. Our plotter is set to be as dark as it will go. Is there anyway to control the darkness of the print from Adobe Acrobat or some kind of add-in or other application that can help with this?

Some variables to consider.
--| The source image. If it were to be adjusted in a photo editing application prior to bringing it into PDF
then what's in the PDF may provide improved line weight/density - contrast - etc. for the plotter/printer & thus a
more acceptable hard copy.

--| Adjusting source file application to provide improved contrast, line weight/density, etc.

--| In Acrobat Professional; look over the settings available for creating a PDF from the available input file formats.
For Acrobat 8 there are 49 file formats listed for the Category "Convert To PDF" in the Preferences.
Most of these have a default setting that you can edit. Some editable settings are more
comprehensive than others.

Select Edit > Prefences > the Category "Convert To PDF"Fundamentally the hardcopy reflects what got put into the PDF so addressing the source file
and the convert to PDF settings may be the success path.
