Print Preview Issues w/New Laptop

I just bought a new Thinkpad with XP Pro, Office 2007 Enterprise, and CS2 pre-installed. Everything is fine, EXCEPT that Print Preview no longer works for pdf files on line - AND - there is no Print Preview option in the File tab when working directly in Acrobat 8 Pro. I've searched the internet with no answers to be found. Can anybody help? Thanks!

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 8, Windows

Hi D4P,

You'll need to update to Acrobat 8.1 because the Vista Preview Handler is a new feature only available in this update. The Preview Handler is a new user interface for viewing PDF files in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 on Windows Vista and Windows XP, as well as in Windows Explorer on Windows Vista. Preview Handler must be turned on in both applications.

Hope this helps,
Lori

Hi Lori,

I have Acrobat 9 Pro Extended and windows vista home. I am still not able to see preview of files in Outlook 2007 pane. I succeeded doing that by installing Foxit Preview Handler by Tim Huer, but i want the Adobe version. Please advise.
My 2nd question is how to see print preview in an open pdf file after you have edited or used the typewriter tool --before you actually print it. There is no preview command button on the menu. Please help.

Thanks!

Check the following preference to see preview thumbnails in the Acrobat Print Dialog. Edit > Preferences > General "Show thumbnails in Print dialog".
You'll also need to select "Document and Markups" from the Comments and Forms pulldown in the Print dialog.

There is a proposed fix for the PDF Preview Handler for 64-bit systems in the following U2U forum post:
