Printing color pdf on monochrome laser

I am trying to print a pdf that has pastel yellow and darker gold elements along with black type. Only the black type prints, with some faint shadows where the gold should be. Is there a way to make the colored areas darker so they will print as medium gray? I tried importing the file in to WordPerfect and Photoshop, but the file is a government form and it is password protected.

My Product Information:
Reader 9.3, Windows

You can ask Reader to print all the colors on a page using pure black, but you won't get shades of gray, just black and white (so if you've got black text on a yellow background, you won't be able to read it):

Actually, I found that clicking on Advanced in the Print dialog and choosing Print as Image made the gold print as grayscale, although I'm still missing the pastel yellow. Print as black wouldn't work, as yellow is used to highlight text areas.

@George: I know, but since the upgrade link formatting isn't working properly with URLencoded strings, which is why I didn't tag it. As you can see, the entire message is chewed up and the URL is decoded twice.
