Printing comments with Adobe Reader

We are currently working with Adobe Reader 8.1.1 and we received a reviewed pdf document with sticky notes appearing everywhere on top of the text.

We are however unable to print these comments. In "preferences" under the Edit menu there isn't any "commenting" subsection and selecting "Documents and markups" in the Comments and Forms field, doesn't help neither. I tried to add the registery key patch as described in another post, but wasn't successful (it keeps saying that it isn't a valid registry script).

Does anyone know how this can be solved?

Thanks in advance.

It is expected behavior for Comments not to print in Reader. What registery patch are you using for Reader 8.1.1?

I found a registry patch in this post

http://www.acrobatusers.com/forums/ask_an_expert/questions/view/2443/

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\8.0\Annots\cPrefs]
"bprintCommentPopups"=dword:00000001

But I can't seem to import it into the registry.

You'll find this option in the Print dialog box :
--> Doc only, Doc + comments, Doc + stamps, Forms only;-)

Merlin, thank you for answering but it doesn't resolve my problem however : I don't have the Doc + comments option in my print screen (see picture below).

Looks like this was for Reader 8.0 not 8.1 -- perhaps this is why is won't import. Have you tried modifying the version number?

Reader doesn't print comments but Std. and Pro. do. Lori Defurio has another workaround for flattening the stamps (make a backup copy first) at:

Seems to be the highlited option in your screenshot : Doc + markup, in my french localised version this menu item is translated as "Document et annotations" (Everywhere else in Reader and Acrobat "annotations" means "comments).

One can freely download AbracadabraTOOLS to do this (among many others functions) with Acrobat 5/6/7/8 (but not with Reader) :
