printing error

I'm having problems with printing certain pdf documents.
 
the error printed is the following:
"ERROR: undefinedresult
OFFENDING COMMAND: image
 
STACK:
 
-dictionary-
-mark-
-savelevel-
"
 
also i can't export the document to HTML which results in the following error
"IDS_HIERARCHY_REQUEST_ERR"
 
i'm running Win XP and have tried printing with acrobat pro 7 and 8, acrobat reader 7 and 8 and tried to export to html with acrobat pro 7 and 8. no success. the pdf is displayed correctly on screen though in all reader and pro versions.

Without seeing the actual PDF, I can't tell. My crystal ball is on the fritz :(.

here's one example of such a pdf, but there is quite a afew with the same problem (now i hope there aren't any copyright issues with me posting a link to the paper...)
