Printing feint black lines around frames

Creating a press quality pdf from Indesign - printing to digital printer from Acrobat. It is printing feint black lines around image frames. Most are placed photos - (psd) with transparent backgrounds or drop shadows.

Have tried several export settings. Is this something simple to fix, a stupid question or a back and forth hit and miss between the printer and Acrobat?

CS3 on a MAC.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi --

My turn to ask a stupid question: You don't have a visible frame set in InDesign for the image frames do you?

In Acrobat, see if you can select the frames themselves using the TouchUp Object tool. Click the frame and see if it can be selected separate from the image. If so, you can easily delete the frames in Acrobat.

I can't say whether the issue originates in InDesign or Acrobat, sorry, but here's something else you can try to zoom in on the issue.

In Acrobat, select an image with the TouchUp Object tool, Control-click to show the shortcut menu, and choose Place Image. Select your PSD image and see how it looks. If it comes into Acrobat with a frame, your issue originates in Photoshop.
