Printing inserted images in pdf document

Hi,
My first post here and hope someone can help me out with a problem I am having. I am using Acrobat 5.0 (have been for a long time now) and when I print a pdf document that has an inserted image (a signature image) it prints the image much lighter than what it should. I can print the document perfectly in Reader 8. Anyone know what might be the problem getting it to print correctly in Acrobat 5.0? I have tried adjusting the print properties to no avail.
Thanks for any help.
Gene

PS--when I first tried to print the document the images would not print at all until I un-checked the "print as image" then it started printing them but much lighter??

My Product Information:
Acrobat Standard 5.x or older, Windows

Something to try.
Rescan the signature at a higher resolution, say to 400 ppi.
Also, play with scaling values, for the image, below 100%.
The idea is to obtain an effective resolution that, when the image is printed, gives a desired dpi on the paper.
