Since having a new Canon 3245 mopier installed, we have lost the ability t0 use the "staple and collate" option when printing multiple copies. The option works fine on WORD documents and did work fine with PDF docs. Any ideas?

Have you updated your print driver? Also, what Operating System and What Version of Acrobat or Adobe Reader are you running?

These 2 references should also be helpful for booklet printing:

Hi KellyMcC - told print driver correct. We have just had Adobe Reader X installed. All our PDF's were obviously created using previous version(s) of Adobe.

None of out IT guys have a clue - looks like Adobe Reader X is not fully compatible with previous versions!

The print dialogs have been revised in the Acrobat X Family, and any hardware-specific features such as stapled collation are now set via the "Properties" button - open the Print dialog, select the printer and press "Properties" - this activates the native dialog from the printer driver itself, which can control advanced features such as tray swapping, duplex, stapling, ink control, cover sheets, etc.

To staple collated copies don't set things on the Acrobat Print dialog itself, set them in the Properties dialog for the printer you wish to target. Acrobat will think it's printing one copy, and the printer driver will handle the rest.

Hi

Thanks for your input but just the same result - prints 2 copies but staples them both together!

Are you setting the number of copies on the "Properties" dialog, or on the Acrobat Print dialog? It should be done on the Properties dialog so the print driver understands it's a repeat job - if you set the copy count in Acrobat's dialog the printer will see it as one long job, and apply one staple.

After converting a powerpoint presentation (containing hidden slides) to PDF it appears that I no longer have the option to print a handout without the hidden slides showing. Would appreciate any help as I need to make frequent presentations.

Many thanks out there

Are you trying to print handouts from the PDF?

Are you using PDFMaker in PowerPoint to create the PDF or are you Printing to the Adobe PDF Printer?

I would recommend re-PDFing from PowerPoint to create a file with (or without) the desired slides. Also, it helps to know what version of Acrobat & Microsoft Office you are running, so I can give you exact directions.
