Printing too large (5-10%) than settings state

Hi - newbie here, and having a problem with pdf's printing too large: between 5-10% larger than settings.

While my HP Photosmart D7360 printer is quirky, it doesn't seem to have this same over-sizing problem when printing direct from other applications.

I've changed every conceivable setting in printing prefs, I make sure the paper size/printing size is correct, tried all "fit to page", "shrink to page" - and while the preview and all settings states that the pdf will print nicely onto the A4 page, it doesn't.
The print is approx 10% larger than all the settings state (eg print a 10cm line, it will appear almost 11cm long on paper).

I've tried for weeks, changing printer and pdf settings - I'm completely stuck!

Any ideas would be greatly received.

Check your device settings - there's a scale setting in most printer drivers under Control Panel, Printers and Faxes, , Printing Preferences, Advanced..., Scaling:Lee
