I made garment patterns, I'm working on one right now. Customers will be email the pattern on pdf format and some of the pattern pieces have to print on they printer the right size. How do I make sure it will print the right size. I purchased a pattern from a lady and she had a square on the ebook that you use to be sure it printed the right size. I understand how to do that, but I'm not sure how to be sure it will print the right size.

Assuming you are printing the PDF on a paper size it actually fits on, using page scaling of "none" in the Acrobat print dialog box will print the document to the defined size within the file - but of course it will only be truly 1:1 if the person making the PDF has used the right scale in the first place. For anything where 1:1 printing is important, including a visible ruler strip or grid is the usual thing to do, as sometimes the hardware in printers will slightly change the scale without being told to.
