Spell Check

Hello,

We have an invitations business and are currently using the PDF format to send our jobs to printing (which are sent from the Web) - Web-to-Press.

Before the jobs are sent to the printers, a human proofer is currently reading over the text in Adobe Reader in IE7 or Firefox to ensure that there are no typos. This is obviously prone to human error. We had the idea of using Adobe Acrobat to run a spell check against the embedded text for common spelling mistakes.

Unfortunately, after downloading and installing the trial version of Acrobat Pro and testing it on a PDF that has definite spelling mistakes, the spell checker is not returning the expected spelling errors.

It almost seems as if it isn't working at all as the message appears instantly.

Is the spell check feature something that isn't working in Acrobat Pro within an Internet Browser (such as I.E. or Firefox)?

Do you know if there is a plugin or add-on that we could use separately (or in conjunction) with Acrobat?

Thanks in advance!

Bon dia,
Acrobat's spell check does not spell check the main text flow in the body of the PDF.
It does check content in form fields and comment annotations.
For a software spell check do the spell check of the source file with its authoring application
(if supported) prior to publishing the output PDF.

Don't know if a 3rd party plug-in for checking the main text flow is available.
A quick web search indicates there may be something out there.
{spell check pdf document}
