Temp Files created while printing to PDF using Batch Processing

We are using the Print All batch processing sequence in Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional to print Word files to PDF. The program was creating and sending a .tmp file copy of each file to a physical printer in addition to saving the PDF files as part of the batch process. In some instances, we were prompted to acknowledge saving of the tmp file by clicking OK or Cancel. Are there settings that can be adjusted to avoid having the tmp file creation slow the batch processing and also avoid having unnecessary hard copies of documents generated when we only want the electronic file created?

Try creating a new Batch Sequence.
Select the "Description" sequence. This has defaults of "Leave As Is" in the event that
you do not want to alter existing document properties (title, subject, author, & keywords).
The output of this sequence is PDF.
When you run the sequence and browse to the directory with the MS Word files you
select File Type (*.*) to see the *.doc files. Select the *.doc files to convert & click OK.You may want to open Word first to configure PDFMaker to your desired settings.
You may want to access Acrobat's Preferences and, under Convert to PDF, edit the MS Word
settings.

Unlike the Print All sequence, this sequence is not configured to "print" (i.e., make the paper);
rather, it outputs a PDF file for each *.doc file selected.
