Text boxes don't print

There was a question asked about printing text boxes on Tue, Jan 23, 2007. The user was not able to print text boxes that he added to an existing document. Thom Parker's answer was to go to the "General" tab on the properties panel for the text box and change the "Visible but doesn't print" option. I am having the same problem where I can not print text boxes but I do not have this option available on the general tab.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Standard 6.0.0, Windows

Are the text boxes form fields or comments? if using Text Box comments, be ceratin to choose Document and Comments in the Print dialog box.

I solved this problem by going into the Print Dialogue (Ctrl+P) and beneath the Properties button, I selected "Documents and Markup" from the drop-down options ("Documents" was the default). I am using XP and Acrobat Professional 7.0.8

I am in the add/edit fields and have added text boxes. While in this format I tried to print and the text boxes do not show even with changing things on the print menu. When I close the edit mode the print boxes do not show on the screen any longer. How do I get these invisible text boxes to print?

Do you have borders or any text for the form text fields?

Have you the "Form Field:" set to "visible"?

bobarg,
The described configuration in the Print dialogue is specifically for the annotations associated with the Comments and Markups tools.

You have placed form fields (the text field). Form fields are not Comment/Markup annotations; so, the Print dialogue configuration is not applicable.

Once a text field has been placed display all properties. The General tab has a selection "Form Field" with a drop-down menu. Then menu's choices are Visible | Hidden | Visible but doesn't print | Hidden but printable.

Once you have added/edited all form fields you must leave the form editing mode and Save the PDF.
If you have not saved the form field adds/edits then there is nothing to print to paper.

Be well...

Thank you for your response. I think I understand you comment. I have saved the PDF and still cannot seem to print.
