Hi Sir,

Sir, I work for publishing House in prepress section and we prints directories for which the pdf files are supplied by the client. I normally, come across some pdf in which the client use Shadows and transperancy on special colors. We use imposition software to impose our files in form wise.

Our imposition software sometimes fails to convert the special color to process and create a white box around the image where shadow or transperancy used.

Plz can u suggest the way to fix it this type of problem in pdf itself.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Standard 7.0.3, Macintosh

Sayyed Hannan,
The white box is typically associated with a transparent object. Usually the white box will show because you don't have Overprint Preview turned ON. You should see this white box in Acrobat if don't have Overprint Preview turned on and you will see the same result from your RIP if it is not set to honor Overprint. To chage the Overprint Preview settings in Acrobat 8.x to the Advanced menu > Print Production > Overprint Preveiw. I dont' know how to set it to honor Overprint in your RIP.You can use the Ink Manager in Acrobat to convert spot colors to CMYK process colors. You can find the Ink Manager from within the Print Production toolbar. Go to Output Preview, the Ink Manager, or the Print > Advanced dialog boxes.Hope this helps,

Regards

Sir,

It is correct that when we switch to overprint preview the white box disappear, but sir, we use ctp and i found that white box also appearing in the plates, our ctp rip converts all spot to process, but fails to handle transparent object.

Is there any option available in acrobat through which we can solve these type of problem in acrobat itself.

Thanks
