Why does one userprofile go to temp deadlock

We have set up 25 new identical PC's, with WinXP.

The programinstall is made with policies in AD. Userprofiles are roamed from server.

Problem:
On one of the profiles, Adobe Reader freezes for minutes, when trying to print, or setup printer, like it goes into a deadlock (freezes, no response and no CPU activity) after 1-2 minutes, the printing window pops up.

It happens on any machine this profile log on to, but not for any other profiles on same computers.

Any suggestions??

Sincerely

Mikael Rasmussen

This issue has to do with a functional issue in a particular printer instance in the profile. To avoid having to recreate the profile, try removing any/all the non-necessary printers from their profile then reboot.

If that doesn't fix it, remove all the printers and printer drivers (you need one printer to delete the drivers through the printer properties). Reboot then re-add just the printer needed.

You may need to use ccleaner (www.ccleaner.com) to aid in some of the windows cleanup.

Why? When you do File Print, Reader scans all the printers. If one of them is having a problem, or is in a remote office, the scan has to timeout before moving along.

We ran into this situation here on a number of workstations. Flushing and reinstalling only the needed printers did the trick.

Thank you very much. Removing old non existing printers from the profile did the trick.
