Are you using Acrobat 9 and the "Richmedia" feature or a previous version of Acrobat? Where are you setting "Autoplay"?

I don't see any change in file size using Acrobat 9, on the "Activation Settings" tab of the video Properties dialog choosing "Enable When - The page containing the content is opened".

More information please... What kind of file is your source video, version of Acrobat etc.. Thank you

Using A9 pro using the Multimedia tools - video
Yes I am using the Activation settings tab - I made two versions of the pdf, where the only change was whether or not the video auto played.

Source vids are .movs

again I am using Acrobat 9 pro on Mac OS X

I would guess that your video file is H.264 encoded (otherwise it would take you to the Legacy "Add Movie" dialog). I am not able to reproduce, I am using Acrobat 9 Pro on Mac OS X too.

I create a blank PDF, save the PDF.
Next I open the PDF and using the "Video Tool" double click on the page and browse to select movieSample.mov. I don't change any settings (I am in the "Insert Video" dialog and not the "Add Movie" dialog because my MOV file is H.264 encoded) and click OK and do a "Save As" and save the PDF called "NoAuto.pdf".
Last I open the blank page again and repeat the steps for adding/selecting the video, this time I click "Show Advanced Options" and on the "Launch Settings" tab under "Activation Settings" I change it to "Enable When" -> "The Page Containing the content is opened", then I do a "Save As" again and save the PDF called "Auto.pdf".
When I compare the two PDF's they are both 8MB.

Sorry I cannot be of more help, if you would like to send me your file I can try to reproduce with your file, but it does not make sense, it is just changing a setting, no data is added to the file for the file size to increase.
